All Occasion Card

Good morning!

It's been really hot here in Southern California and I am so ready for it to cool off.  Thinking of that, I decided Fall colors were the way to go for my card today.  I used one of my favorite Popcorn the Bear stamp sets, Bunches of Love.  This large stamp is perfect for any occasion.  I decided not to include a sentiment for my card, so I could use it whenever I needed a last minute card.

I used my Cricut Expression to cut out the shaped squares on my card and inked up the edges with some brown chalk.  I colored the image with Copic Sketch Markers.  Finally, I found a bit of ribbon I had left over from another project and added a bow to the bottom of the card, as well as some copper pearls along the edges.  Like most scrappers and card makers I hoard left over bits of paper and ribbons.  You never know when you might use them, right?

Christmas Treasure Box

How about a little Christmas in August??!! My best friend came to visit last weekend and she brought her Ultimate Tool with her. She has been wanting to make the Treasure Box project off of the Ultimate Crafter's Companion Advanced Construction Techniques DVD. (long name...tons of great projects!! ha) We loaded the DVD into the TV in my scrap room and got busy. My goodness did we have fun. Neither one of us made a traditional "pirate' treasure box. My BFF made a gorgeous box that she decorated with ribbon, bling and flowers that she plans to give to her sister and I decided to make a Christmas Treasure Box.

This fun "stocking" paper that I have been dying to use, inspired me to make this project.  I pulled out some matching card stock and got to work. It was super easy to follow along with the video. And we had a blast working together.

I added some clear bling and colored them with my Copics to match my patterned paper. I just love the freedom of this technique. You can match your clear bling to any project by using just the right Copic color.

I used Velcro to attach the lid to the base. Next, I added some fun embellies and I think the perfect finishing touch was when I decided to make snow. I put on a layer of Glossy Accents and topped it with some new Stampendous! Shaved Ice. It is so gorgeous in person!

Wouldn't this be the perfect gift for a teacher or friend?? I can just see this with some homemade cookies or candies inside. My kids make these fun candies that they give to their teachers that would be ideal. And guess what?? I am going to share the recipe with you today. (aren't you lucky?! lol)

Ingredients:

Mini pretzels

Rollo Candies (unwrapped)
Pecan halves

Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Layer cookie sheet with pretzels. Put a unwrapped Rollo on top of the pretzel. Bake in a 200 degree oven for 10-15 minutes until the candy starts to gently melt.(Don't let it get too melty).

Remove the cookie sheet from the oven and immediate top each Rollo with a pecan half. Lightly pressing it down into the softened chocolate candy. Let your treats cool and then eat or package to giveaway.

This is super easy and super yummy. I constantly get requests for the "recipe".  I hope you get a chance to make some to put in a Treasure Box that you make yourself.

Thinking of You

Good morning, Khristen here. If you are anywhere on the east coast, I hope you are with power and Hurricane Irene spared you any damage. We have prepared here at our house as we are to be hit with Irene's high winds today (Sunday). It will be interesting to see what comes of the storm, but we are prepared and ready. As I type this, I am listening to the rain and wind start to pick up outside the window.

Today's card is for everyone affected by this storm...I am thinking of all of you today! There is no stamp better than this one, an adorable Humphrey stamp. She looks like she is thinking of someone, doesn't she? She is the part of the Birthday Girl stamp set, and I decided to paper piece her. I started by stamping the grey cardstock base, cutting her out, and then stamping her again on tan and green polka dot patterned paper. I cut out the dress, hat, bows, and shoes, gluing them in place, and finished it off by accenting her with some Stickles. I adhered her to a card base from the Fairyopolis Cardmaking Kit and glued a ribbon to the top of the card. The sentiment is a rub on which came from the same kit, and seriously, I am amazed at how many projects I've completed using elements of this kit. It seems endless!

Happy Friday! It's Lisette here, and it's been a long week since returning from vacation.  Hurricane Irene had us sitting at the edge of our seats until she decided to turn and work was just crazy! I hope all fare well on the northern east coast.

Well I'm here as promised, sharing another great image from Humphrey's Corner. This time I used my first love and favorite medium, distress inks. I just can't get enough of these little elephants. They are just fun to color! All sets come with perfect sweet sentiments too. This sentiment today is borrowed from the set Birthday Girl.  Speaking of Birthday Girl, my little one is 9 today! I can't wait for her to come home from school to celebrate!

Hopeless Romantic

 Hello again from Carmi!  I have a sweet new card to show you.

 In the Humphrey unmounted rubber stamp collection is this sweet girlie elephant.  

She is very shy.  

I stamped her using my Rock-a-blocks and black ink.

 The image on the package inspired me to colour her in this palette.  Happily, I was able to use the new Crafter's Companion Spectrum Noir markers.  They are fabulous to work with!

 I cut my coloured image into a smaller square and added some foam tape to the back to give it some height on the card.

 I placed the bouquet behind her arms by using an x-acto knife to cut a little insert.

Isn't she sweet?

She is originally from the "Birthday Girl" set.

A Simple Hello

Happy Wednesday Everyone!! Ann here today to share a little set of notecards I made. With the kids going back to school, these will be great for quick communication with the teachers. Pretty enough and simple enough. I started with beige and pink cardstock and stamped my image and sentiment from the Flower Fairies Winter Collection in a chocolate brown. I cut all my paper with my Ultimate Crafters Companion. I popped my layers up with dimensionals and made tiny envelopes with my Envelobox Creator. Then I finished things off with a few tiny pearls and I am done. Thanks so much for stopping by today. Enjoy your day!!!

Cute Humphrey Purse

Hello guys. It's Amy once again. I hope you like this cute purse I made today using The Ultimate Crafter's Companion & DVD. 

The stamp I used was Best Friends Humphrey Stamp Set. Then I used my watercolor pencils to color in the image and some Stickles to "bling" it up a little.

I put some stickers on it just to give it some more cuteness. I added some stickers on the outside just so it didn't look too plain. This was super simple and easy to make. If you do not have the Ultimate Tool then I suggest you get yourself one asap. Have a great day!

Treaure box and matching card

Happy Monday!  This week we are showing off Crafter’s Companions' Humphrey the Elephant stamp sets.  These darling elephant stamps are so versatile and great for any kind of paper project you might want to create.

Today I have a beautiful treasure box and matching card to share with you. 

I created the treasure box using the Ultimate Crafters Companion tool, Boxer board, and The Ultimate Advanced Construction Techniques DVD.   The Advanced Construction Techniques DVD made the the treasure box amazingly easy to create, as I just followed along using the step by step instructions on the video. Once I was done making the treasure box, I added some layered flowers, pearls and cream colored lace to the base and lid of the treasure box.  Everyting looks better with flowers and pearls, don't you think?  These boxes would be perfect with some homemade goodies inside and given to someone special.

To create the matching 6x6 card, I used my Ultimate Tool to cut layers of matching paper.

The sweet stamped image of two friends sharing some ice cream is the Humphrey stamp set Friends Forever.   Using Copic markers, I colored my stamped image and chalked around the white cardstock with purple chalk.  To create the sentiment, "I treasure you", I choose a font I like on my computer and printed it out on vellum paper.  I finished it by adding matching flowers and a bit of pearls along the bottom.

Fairyopolis Cardmaking Kit

Today's project using a wonderful kit from Crafter's Companion. This kit is the Fairyopolis Complete Cardmaking kit (CLICK HERE). It comes with 24 beautifully printed cards (2 different sizes) and matching envelopes, wonderful die cuts, amazing rubons, tons of stickers, bling, flowers, pop dots, you name it! Be sure to check the site to see all the items you get. Here's just one sample that I made myself. You also get a book that shows you ideas and samples.

I will say that I just love to open up all the goodies and come up with my own ideas, so this card above does not use any of their patterns. The materials all match nicely, so it's no problem if you don't want to follow the pattern book. One of my personal favorite items they have in the kit is the decoupage sheets, which I used here for the fairy. It's a layered set of die cuts that you put together for dimension. The one used above has four levels of dimension. I added pop dots where I wanted to include as much dimension as I wanted. You can also use decoupage glue on it instead of just pop dots. The butterflies, Just For You and rectangle behind it the saying are all rub-ons that are included in the set. This card is one of the 6x6" cards in the kit.

This set will also go very well with any of the Fairyopolis stamp sets or the paper pads and other matching fairy products. I just love fairies!! Hope this card makes you smile today!

Fairyopolis Pyrimage Easel Card w/ Drawers

Good Morning Everyone, Happy Thursday!! Jinky here from JinkysCrafts and today I would like to share with you this adorable Pyrimage Easel Card w/ Drawers I made for my friend. I printed one of the Pyrimage kits from the Fairyopolis Papercrafting Collections CD-ROMs. I really like this set.  It includes 20 project discs separated into each of the four seasons + two additional  CDs, also separated by season. And not only that, you can also use the CD to create backgrounds, custom cards, envelopes, toppers, pyrimages, decoupage,borders, note paper, backing papers and so much more! Is that cool or what?!?

Believe it or not , I have not done any Pyrimage before but by using the Fairyopolis CD-ROMs I was able to finish my first Pyrimage project easily. When you print the set, there are directions and an idea image included. I just love the 3-dimensional look of this papercrafting technique. 

Also, making this Easel Card w/ Drawers is very easy & fast simply because I have the right tool - the Crafters Companion Boxer Board . I made the drawers longer to match the size of my 6"x5" easel card. The copic markers can fit perfectly in these drawers.

Fairyopolis canvas

Hi everyone...Lynda here to bring you another fun project you can make using the wonderful Fairyopolis TripleDisc Papercrafting CD Rom.

I first chose this beautiful fairy image from the CD and printed her onto white cardstock. The images come with various layers that you cut out and stack to achieve amazing dimension on your project. Once all the layers were assembled I used a glitter pen to add highlights to her wings and dress. I painted the canvas with a spatter background technique. I then backed the fairy image with two colors of cardstock.

Hello! It is Stacy here to welcome you to Crafter's Companion today and I want to invite you back into the magical land of Fairyopolis. I so happy to show you an easel card I made using a decoupaged fairy from one of the most awesome things from Fairyopolis. The Fairyopolis Triple CD-ROM set. These CDs are LOADED with goodies and projects.

The hardest part is deciding what you want to make! I really had a great time just looking through all the projects. This set of 3 CD-ROMs includes a 20 project disc separated into each of the four seasons (5 projects for each season) and two additional paper crafting CDs separated by season into Spring & Summer and Autumn & Winter.

Well I did finally pick out a project and then I printed it out on white card stock. Next I fussy cut out all the different well labeled parts. Even though the project I picked was a frame, I decided to make an easel card instead because I wanted to make a birthday card for my daughter's friend. I just know she will love a card with a gorgeous fairy on it. And this fairy just called out to me. Isn't she just the loveliest thing??!!

Fun in Minutes with Fairyopolis!

Hi, it's Katrina again with a quick, and I mean QUICK, adorable card that you can make in a matter of minutes.  When summer ends and the school year begins, time seems to be shorter for everyone with practices, homework, clubs, and that job that helps pay for all those things!  Crafty time seems to slip away pretty quickly...or your too tired to even create!

Well, the Fairyopolis Complete Cardmaking Kit can solve that for you lovers of all things fairy and magical!  I think it has magical powers of it's own to make you super creative in the shortest time possible!!  

The card I made below took me about 30 minutes, which included picking everything out, having to change up my plan of what I had planned in the first place, and then coming up with a finished card that is adorable!!!

The kit had everything I used for the card, except the twine, tape runner, and the border punch!  It has pre-made cards and I just used two of them and cut the orange one to create another dimension for the card. All the images are included in the kit and the rub-ons are some of the best I have used for going on easily and quickly, WITHOUT tearing!  Here is a close up of the rub-ons that I used......

Still playing with the Fairyopolis Cardmaking Kit!!

It's amazing, isn't it? I received the Fairyopolis Complete Cardmaking Kit over 2 months ago, and I am STILL left with a ton of stuff to play with. This kit is a card makers dream come true, and it really will make a TON of stuff. The kit's bits and pieces have also been finding their way to my scrapbook pages and altered items. It's just so versatile! What better way to kick of Fairyopolis week here at the CC blog than showcasing this kit?

Hey all you crazy crafters, Khristen here. My mother's birthday was the 10th of this month and I needed a card. I pulled out the kit and started by building this pretty decoupaged fairy with the help of Collall Coll Kit decoupage glue, making the dimension you see here possible.

After building the fairy, it was just a question of how to properly embellish. It is my mother, after all, so I wanted the card to be extra special. I started with the card base (which, of course, is included in the kit, pre cut with matching envelope. It couldn't be called the "complete" kit without it!) I decided to throw a couple of stickers from the kit on it in layers, covering the smaller sticker with some distress Stickles. I thought the fairy wings needed some Stickles too (because we all know fairies are sparkly) and stickled away. (Yes, I just invented a new verb. I like it.) I think at the point I made the heart, I had to tell myself to step away from the Stickles (although is there such a thing as *too much* sparkle? I think not.)

I don't have any lovely Fairyopolis paper, so I took another card base and traced a circle on it and hand cut it (hence the Stickles around the edge...my attempt at hiding my shaky cutting!) Stickles dots seemed appropriate, and when the right side of the card appeared empty, I added a couple of Stickle stripes. Rub-ons are also from the kit (the sentiments, flower, and library card looking thingy) and I finished it off by adding the sentiment on a scrap from the cut up card base. I used the embossing tool from the Ultimate Crafter's Companion to curl the banner, adding Stickles at the end.

If you are a card maker, you really need to get your hands on this kit. It is seemingly endless, and makes putting cards together a breeze. Get one today at the Crafter's Companion site!

Humphrey Love

Hello Everyone, Lisette here again, Happy Friday! I'm here to share some Humphrey Love! Or should I say how much I LOVE these adorable little elephants. Today's little elly comes from the set Flowers for You. There are six diffrent sets in the current collection and each of them are so sweet!

I colored him with Copic Markers this time. I have another that I will share at a later date in Distress inks. SO CUTE! At least I think so, LOL!! Please stop by Crafter's Companion and take a look at the collection. I'm sure you'll LOVE them too!

Fairyopolis Frame Cards

Hello from Carmi again!
I have the loveliest assortment of cards on my table right now!

 It will take years to review all the projects and images in the Fairyopolis CD collection!  I am going to launch it on Canada's shopping channel later this month or you can buy it in the Crafters Companion web store now.

 These frame cards start out as artwork you print from the CD.  I printed my set on white card stock.

 The fairy in each frame is a 3D paper decoupage.  I cut out all the parts and used 3D glue or foam dots to layer the images into place.

 The frame itself was my favorite part of each project.  It is a marvel of math!  I cut out the main box image  and immediately noticed the white dash lines indicating where I needed to make score lines.

 The boxer score board was perfect for this task!  I was able to line up the dash marks with score line easily!

 The frame builds itself when everything is scored!

 This is the back.  I the attached the main image, the extra pieces to complete the inside frame and of course, my fairies.

 A little Spray and Sparkle glitter gave it some shine!

 Voila!  Stunning Fairyopolis Frame cards!

Can I give this one away?  No, best print another set of images to make a new frame.
